Mudu, is an ancient water town which is located to the southwest of Suzhou City.
The village dates back to 773BC-476BC. So much history behind it! The gardens and water ways are still being maintained. The name of this water village comes from the story about Xishi who was one one of the Four Beauties in Chinese history. According to history, Fuchai, the king of Wu, asked workers to build a Guanwa Palace so to please the Beauty Xishi.

Mudu was an important town in China both economically and militarily. Within this village you will find former residences of famous Chinese scholars and wealthy businessmen.

This was outside a restaurant in Mudu. I could only recognise the plucked chicken and fish but the others.....no idea!!!!
